1933
Lally Bros. Column Co. is established.
Thomas F. Lally founds the company with a focus on fabricating concrete-filled steel “Lally” columns, giving architects and engineers a stronger, more fire-resistant alternative to conventional rolled beam columns.
Late 1950s
The Lally family develops the Fire-Trol column.
After extensive research and testing, the Fire-Trol column became the first prefabricated fireproofed steel column of its kind to receive Underwriters Laboratories approval and labeling. That milestone reflected the mindset that still defines the company today: identify a need, develop a practical solution, and deliver a product customers can trust.
1970s-1980s
Jack Lally recognizes a new opportunity.
Lally Pipe & Tube is formed.
John B. “Jack” Lally identified the value of secondary tubular products for construction and industrial applications. What began as a solution to support column manufacturing grew into a broader business model centered on sourcing and supplying secondary steel pipe from U.S. mills. Bud Long, Red Westlund, Brenden Lally, and Tim Lally’s work helped support the growth of the business.
